Once again, I'm left dazed and confused

My temp assignment seems to have disappeared. I was called on Monday evening at home, while I was still on the train. My wife relayed that they didn’t need me the next day and the agency would call me on Tuesday with more details when they had them.
What I’ve been told is that the project is being delayed, so they don’t need me now, but they want me to come in when they finally get around to doing it.
My only problem with this whole thing is that my “agent” seems to be avoiding me – or at least avoiding direct contact with me. I’ve called and left several messages, all indicating that she should call me on my cell – something she ignores, since she continues to call my house instead. I did get her to give me some information via email, but that’s it – the only direct contact I’ve had with her lately.
