Firefly the movie?
Firefly (2004): “The feature-length adaptation of Joss Whedon’s TV show, set five hundred years in the future, aboard a small, incredibly mobile spaceship whose crew tries to survive.”
Although there are no details on the IMDB page, FireflyFans.net has more news, including this little nugget explaining the cross-over appeal to “main stream” sci-fi fans.
I’m still a little disappointed in FOX and the Sci-Fi channel. FOX for dumping many good shows (Alien Nation, John Doe, Space: Above and Beyond, Sliders, Futurama, and Firefly to name a few) and Sci-Fi for not picking some of them up and either continuing them or at least re-running them. It’s interesting that I mention both of these stations and some of these shows – Sci-Fi re-runs Alien Nation and Space occasionally, and actually took over production of Sliders for a season or two (granted, not the best season or two, but at least the show was still going). Who knows, maybe someone at Sci-Fi will remember who the fans are and think before they go/no-go their next project. And maybe, just maybe, they shouldn’t be doing Mad Mad House…..
