As I might have mentioned a few times, Emma and the others have seen The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy a couple of times. A couple – well, ok, like 50 times. Anyway….
Emma likes it so much, she decided she was going to make a picture for me. Two weeks later – she doesn’t have a lot of free time during school, you know – she brought this home. She drew all the photos herself. And spelled all the words herself – phonetically. In case you can’t figure it out….
“Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” and “Starship Heart of Gold” along the top. The flag says “Magrathea” – a planet in the book. She also put “Don’t Panic” in – very important – and then there’s the usual mushy stuff down at the bottom.
But how cool is that? I’m really impressed with the spelling though – those aren’t the easiest words, and she did a great job.

    Almost caught by the man…

(I should point out that I wasn’t actually speeding – but as usual, when it comes to a speed trap, you still get all nervous and paranoid….)
I was driving through New Haven today, and the car in front of me got nailed by a police officer. The officer was just standing on the sidewalk with a radar/laser gun, tagging cars as they drove towards her.
Mr. Jaguar in front of me was apparently too busy to pay attention, and was more than a little surprised when she stepped off the sidewalk and into the street – with him still quite a ways away – to tell him he was just so busted.
After I knew I wasn’t in trouble, I started to laugh maniacally – it was nervousness at first, but then I realized that I had gotten lucky. Very lucky.

Last summer I had lunch with a couple of friends, at the Subway on the corner of Chapel and Temple.. Outside two female officers were pulling cars over for driving through red.. The vigour and anger in these ladies as they pulled a car over was enormous.. a marvelous sight, we were laughing out loud! one of the best lunches of last year ; )

I stopped into the Subway near SCSU in a clearly marked parking spot. I came out to find a parking ticket. Hmmmmmm.
