  GTWD: a new trend? How did I miss it?

  SAHM’s get a good amount of attention these days, and sympathy. It is much deserved, as they’ve earned it – and from time to time I’ve been right there with the rest of the left-leaning tree-huggers patting my wife on the back. And, lately, SAHD’s are even getting their 15 minutes, and they deserve it, too. But this here, this is my little shout out to the guy who loves the shit out of his family, and who works his ass off for them. In other words, this one goes out to all the Go To Work Dads.
  I never really considered the plight of the GTWD (Go To Work Dad) – which is odd, considering that I’m one of them (us?).

  del.icio.us tags redux 

  As you may have noticed, I’ve changed the look of the homepage a little bit: I added Technorati tags to all the posts. I also added a link to bookmark each post on del.icio.us.
  But the point of all this? I’ve borrowed from someone else’s work and modified it a bit to make the same keywords that it links to technorati also link to del.icio.us.

    Adam, many thanks for this plugin. I have it working pretty much like yours, but the cm.php part of the Technorati link escapes me. What does the PHP script do for you?

  Oh, the horror 

  :ethan: decided to fill his diaper this morning – not a problem, except that it was discovered at about 7:55, which is a few minutes before we all start to leave in the morning. The bigger problem was that he not only filled it, but he overflowed. And not just a little – it was so much that we ended up giving him a bath. Suffice it to say that it was not scheduled, nor especially convenient.
  Sadly, his onsie was beyond hope of cleaning, so we tossed it out. I’m still washing my hands in an effort to feel clean again…..

  So, I’m watching an older episode of CSI: Miami thanks to the amazing powers of the internet, and it started to do a bit of shark jumping: behold, the blogging plot twist.
  What’s irritating to me, as a blogger, is how they take things that are just plain silly and then try to pass them off as fact. It’s one thing for the characters, who clearly know what they’re talking about, to have their dialog include the usual explanation of why they’re doing something (“We need to get this sample to trace so we can figure out where the killer was sitting while he waited” or whatever), but another when they start making statements about things that are just plain weird.
  In this example, a character says that bloggers always put extra stuff in their pages that are like easter eggs. Guess what? I don’t. I don’t know very many people who do – but now it’s out there, circulating. No, it doesn’t affect me, but it does irritate me. Ugh.

  I’ve had a Technorati account for a while, and I’ve been using del.icio.us for a while too – del.icio.us is an awesome for online bookmarking, btw – so I’ve been using the whole “tagging” thing for a while. Add Flickr to the mix, and you’ve got some interesting ideas – I tag a post with “macintosh”, then add a link to the Technorati and del.icio.us sites, and people can extend the connection between what I type/say and what they find online. It’s really kind of cool.
  The reason I mention it is that I’ve just configured this site to add a Technorati and del.icio.us link/tags to the bottom of every post (check them out). I wonder if I should track the clicks on those links to see if anyone finds them useful…..

  So apparently this set has been in development since 2004 or so. After getting some very valuable feedback from some users, they added more mini-figs – notably more Jawas. And who couldn’t use some more Jawas?
  For some reason, Luke isn’t included with this set, but since he comes in about 15 other sets, I guess that’s ok. Too bad there’s no Aunt Beru…..

  I’ve never been a big fan of Juicy Couture. I never jumped for joy at the return of sweatsuits (velour, no less) to the fashion market, never found it appealing to have the word “Juicy” stamped across my ass. I found it odd when girls I knew in college would complain about going out at night (particularly to TJ) only to be whistled at and catcalled, I mean, what were they, pieces of meat? They were the same girls who wore Juicy pants. And had exceptionally large breasts which they didn’t bother to try and hide.
  So plastering del.icio.us on your butt is, apparently, a better choice. At least the implications of delcious are better than those of juicy, anyway….
