    [scrubs] musical: awesome

So, I just finished watching the “scrubs” musical episode, and I have to say that I’m very happy. Aside from the “Guy Love” song, which I had downloaded (for free!) from iTunes and instantly loved, there were more than a few other instant classics.
Aside from managing to get tons of medical jargon into the songs, they managed to do parodies of “Pirates of Penzance” and “Grease”, but I’m sure that there were a few others in there that I’ve heard before but couldn’t exactly place. Regardless. Awesome.
I don’t know what it is about musicals, but they just make me happy. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this in the blog at all – or ever – but it’s my opinion that there just aren’t enough musicals in the world. They used to have tons of them back in the day (the 50′s, 60′s, 70′s), but they just don’t make them as much any more. Why? I don’t know. I do know that Disney had a hit with their “High School Musical” thing – so apparently musicals are popular, at least with the so called “tweeners”.
Where was I? Oh yeah, “scrubs” musical. I’m glad I taped it – I have to make Jen watch it about 10 times.

    Stargate lives on… for now

IESB.net – Independent Entertainment News – Stargate SG-1 Movies Announced
MGM announced today the extension of the hit “Stargate SG-1″ franchise with two movies based on the popular series. Titled “Stargate: The Ark of Truth” and “Stargate: Continuum”, the movies will both be made available to the television universe and home entertainment marketplace by MGM.
So, it will be “made for tv” type movies, but I have high hopes that they will be good ones. And after the shafting that more than a few good sci-fi shows have gotten in the past (Farscape, Firefly, Space Above and Beyond, to name just a few), I have to say that announcing the end after 10 seasons and then doing a couple of movies isn’t quite so bad.
Let’s just hope that the new Stargate series is good too.

    Hot Fuzz!

    Badge_HF_t.jpg
If you haven’t see Shaun of the Dead yet, buy/rent it and watch it now. I’ll wait. (And if you get the urge to buy the Shaun of the Dead 12-Inch Talking Action Figure while you’re watching it, then I can’t really stop you, can I?)
Simon Pegg teams up with Nick Frost (among others) to bring us Hot Fuzz, another brilliant comedy. How brilliant? The tagline says it all: Big Cops. Small Town. Moderate Violence.
As usual, there’s more than a bit of tounge-in-cheek joking, lots of action, and I’m sure just as many references to other movies that will miss if you’re not paying attention. If you want to watch a trailer (which includes an extra mustache joke, just for US viewers!) check it out at Yahoo!.

    Life among the "unclean"

    rotovirus – Google Search
When you live with four kids, and three of them go to public schools, occasionally they bring something home that you don’t want: a virus.
We currently have a some form of the rotovirus working it’s way around the family – it started with :ethan:, went to :abby:, and might be working on :noah: right now. Both :jen: and I are so far unaffected, but that will only last so long.
I’m glad that we had a nice weekend – the warm weather meant I could open the windows and try to air the house out a bit. We’ve washed just about every towel in the house now, and are working our way through all the bedsheets – and it’s not because they’ve got the virus in them, in case you’re thinking it. It’s all related to the virus. I think the local water company will be quite pleased with our next payment to them….
More details as events emerge – literally ;) .

    Britney: not immune to parenting

IOL: Sleepy Britney leaves New Year’s Eve party
Britney Spears finally appears to be acting like a new mother – by falling asleep on a New Year’s Eve night out.
It seems pretty lame on the face of it, but think about it – she’s finally getting worn out with all the panty-less partying, and apparently the strain of raising her two children without their father is taking it’s toll. I have to wonder, however, just how much help K-Fed was when they were still together. But that’s just me ;)
