Take this job and shove it

So.... The big news of today is that I got laid off again. FROM THE SAME F*CKING COMPANY that laid be off on 10/5/01. They apparently made their decision on Wednesday, but decided to wait until today to tell me - thus ruining my entire weekend, and bringing me down from the very nice 4th that I had. They could have told me then - I could at least have tried to have a good weekend (and had a few more beers at the party). But noooooooooooo. And no, I still won't tell you where I work. I used to not name them 'cause I didn't want to be found during web searches of them (it actually happened, and the CEO was the one doing the searching!). Now it's out of shame and disgust. Mostly disgust.

I felt a lot like Dan Akroyd/John Belushi in the Greek diner sketch from the "classic" days of SNL - I was cooking them burgers up almost faster than folks could eat them yesterday. Even my hypercritical brothers-in-law said that my burgers were "perfect"!!! So, based on the success of the burgers, and the success of the pork chops the other day, looks like I'm a success on the grill!
