    Stargate lives on… for now 

    IESB.net – Independent Entertainment News – Stargate SG-1 Movies Announced
    MGM announced today the extension of the hit “Stargate SG-1″ franchise with two movies based on the popular series. Titled “Stargate: The Ark of Truth” and “Stargate: Continuum”, the movies will both be made available to the television universe and home entertainment marketplace by MGM.
    So, it will be “made for tv” type movies, but I have high hopes that they will be good ones. And after the shafting that more than a few good sci-fi shows have gotten in the past (Farscape, Firefly, Space Above and Beyond, to name just a few), I have to say that announcing the end after 10 seasons and then doing a couple of movies isn’t quite so bad.
    Let’s just hope that the new Stargate series is good too.

    Merry Christmas to me! 

    Due in large part to the assistance of Secret Santa, I managed to send a book to Heather over at Goofy Girl Blog. She wrote back to say that she liked it. Very good – and leaves me feeling kinda warm and fuzzy inside.
    But what of me? The other side of the Santa equation, so to speak. Thanks to Paula, I’m the proud owner of Serenity on DVD. Paula, it seems, stumbled upon my Amazon wishlist mere moments after I added Serenity to the list. Being a fellow Browncoat, she decided that it was something that I needed to have. I thank her profusely for that. Now if I just had some time to watch it…. Anyway, thanks a ton Paula!

    , you’ll find the usual assortment of stuff – photos, downloads, whatnot – but the Browncoats section has some interesting links:
    Two Must See Features for Browncoats – some Q&A w/ the cast and crew, and some of the “Resurrecting Firefly” special which aired on the SciFi channel.

    The overall buzz I’m getting off the movie – and the screenings before the release – is that fans of the show will love it, and people who’ve only heard of the show will also love it. I’m very excited. Very very excited. Can’t wait to go see it…..

    I aim to misbehave… 

    Wow. Just wow. I just watched the second movie trailer for Serenity, and I can’t really express how much I’d like to see it – RIGHT NOW.
    It’s not out until September 30th, so I’ll have to make due with the Firefly series on DVD for the time being. It’s nice watching the series to see what was, and then comparing it with the movie previews, which show us what will be. It looks like the movie goes into much further detail with regard to some character development, and the CGI they’re able to pull off with a movie budget looks first rate.
    I really hope that this movie is successful, and that they’re able to bring it back as a series again – or even as a series of movies at this point.
